This five-foot long whale was made from three 18” x 60” old-growth cedar boards I’ve been moving around the country for nearly 20 years. They made up an old six-board firewood chest that was left behind when we bought our 1927 Portland, Ore. house and I couldn’t leave them behind when we moved. This whale was the reason why I hung on to those boards — I just never realized it.
